Installing the Origins mod (Minecraft: Java Edition)

This article is about installing the Origins mod. If you are looking for a general guide on installing mods, check out the install mods article.

Installing Fabric

Origins is a Fabric mod. To use it, you need to install Fabric, the Fabric API, and the mod itself on your server. Like any other server software, Fabric can be installed on the Software page.

Currently, the latest Minecraft version is 1.16.5, but the process should be the same for newer versions.

Make sure to install a version that is compatible with your installed Minecraft version (in this case 1.16.5)

You should, again, make sure to install a version that is compatible with your Minecraft version.

If done correctly, both the Fabric API and the Origins mod should now be present in your mods folder.

You can now start your server and join with the Origins mods installed.

Datapacks

You can extend the Origins mod gameplay using datapacks. This article explains how to install datapacks on your server: Installing Datapacks (Minecraft Java Edition)

Connection issues

If you or some of your players are unable to connect to the server and get this or a similar message, the problem is most likely a version mismatch.

Make sure that the server and all clients run the same version of Origins!
