In this guide, we'll describe to you all the available options for your server.
Please note:
- Every change on the options page requires your server to be restarted to take effect.
- Some options are available for all software types, and some others are only available to a specific type of software.
- Plugins can overwrite the behavior of some options. If something does not work as intended, check your plugins first.
General options:
Slots
The slots define how many players can play on your server at the same time. This setting does not affect the performance of your server.
Gamemode
The gamemode option defines which gamemode will be applied to players who never played on your server before. If you want to change the gamemode just for you or for a short time, use the /gamemode command instead.
Difficulty
Configures the difficulty for your server: https://minecraft.wiki/w/Difficulty
Whitelist
If enabled, only players on your whitelist can join your server. This helps to protect your server from uninvited guests. You can add/remove players from your whitelist on the Players page: https://aternos.org/players/whitelist.
Cracked
If enabled, people with a free/Non-premium Minecraft account are allowed to join your server. This includes players with e.g. TLauncher.
Changing this option causes fundamental changes to your server. Your OP and Whitelist may not work anymore, and your playerdata (inventory, position, achievements) will probably be lost. Just change it back if you changed it accidentally.
If you want your OP- and whitelist to work again after changing that option, you must remove all players from these lists and add them again.
PVP
When enabled, players can attack each other.
Achievements
When enabled, achieved achievements are displayed in the chat.
Command blocks
Enables command blocks on your server: https://minecraft.wiki/w/Command_Block
Fly
Allows players on your server to fly even if they are in survival mode if they have a mod installed that provides that ability.
Animals
Configures if animals will spawn on your server
Monsters
Configures if monsters / hostile mobs will spawn on your server. This option has no effect if the difficulty is set to peaceful.
NPCs
Configures if villagers will spawn on your server.
Nether
Configures if a nether dimension will be available in your world.
Force Gamemode
If this option is active, all players who join your server will be set to the gamemode configured in the gamemode option. It does not matter if the player has already played on your server or not.
Spawn Protection
Defines a radius of blocks around the spawn where only operators can build.
Timezone
This setting configures the timezone for your server. Set it to your local timezone to see correct timestamps in the console or messages of your server.
Resource Pack URL
Can contain a direct link to the resource pack, which will be offered to joining players. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrhARIxraTM
Bedrock specific:
Allow Cheats
On a Bedrock Edition server, you must not only be OP to use cheat commands like /gamemode, etc., but you must also enable cheats here to use them.
