When our servers are at full capacity, you'll join a queue before your server starts. This article explains how the queue system works and what to expect while waiting.
Why is there a queue?
Aternos has limited server resources. When more players want to start servers than we have capacity available, players join a queue and wait for resources to become available. This happens when other players stop their servers. By using a fair queue system, we ensure that everyone gets a turn to play rather than letting some players monopolize our hardware.
If you don't want to wait, take a look at
exaroton.com
our
paid hosting platform.
exaroton has no queue, file upload capabilities,
more advanced features, and complete control over your server. Developed
and run completely by the Aternos team!
How does the queue work?
When you click start, you're placed in a queue. You'll see your position and estimated wait time. A red stop button lets you leave the queue at any time, but leaving means losing your position.
As you approach the front of the queue, a confirmation screen appears with a green button. You must click the button to finally start your server. This confirmation ensures you're still active and actually want to use the server. Without it, we'd waste resources starting servers for inactive players. If you don't confirm, you're removed from the queue and must start over.
After you confirm, your server will start within a few minutes and you can join and play.
