Servers on Aternos are automatically deleted after a period of inactivity — usually around 3 months. Once deleted, they will appear under the Previous Servers section on the servers page. This article explains how to restore a deleted server if backups were enabled.
Restoring a deleted server
If you had backups enabled, you can restore your server using the last available backup linked to that server ID. To do so, go to the Previous Servers section on the servers page, select the server you want to recover, and then click the Restore Backup button. The server will be restored to the state it was in at the time of the last backup.
No backup available?
If you didn’t enable backups, your server cannot be recovered — not even by support.
The data is permanently lost. Please do not contact support regarding recovery in this case.
Your server isn't in the list
We only keep records of automatically deleted servers. If your server doesn’t appear in the Previous servers list, it was likely deleted before April 2025, when this feature was introduced, or deleted manually. In that case, you can only restore it manually if backups were enabled.
To do so, first make sure the correct Google Drive is linked on the Account page, then open the All Backups page and restore the appropriate backup. For detailed instructions, check out our backups article.
