Connect to a server via your gaming console (Playstation/Xbox)

To play Minecraft on your Aternos server using a PlayStation or Xbox, you can use the BedrockTogether app. This app helps bridge the connection between your console and the server.

This method is supported only for PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Nintendo Switch is currently not supported.

Please note:
Before attempting to connect via Bedrock Together with your console, ensure your server is either a Minecraft: Bedrock Edition server or a Minecraft: Java Edition server with the GeyserMC plugin installed. This compatibility is necessary for successful console connections.

Install the BedrockTogether app

Download and install BedrockTogether on your mobile device. It's available for both iOS and Android.
Get it on Google Play  Download on the App Store

Configure BedrockTogether

Open the BedrockTogether app and enter your Aternos server address and port. You can find these details on your Aternos server page.

Start your Aternos server

Before attempting to connect via Bedrock Together, make sure your Aternos server is started and online.

Open the connection

In the BedrockTogether app, tap "Start." This will make your server visible on your local network.

Connect from your console

On your PlayStation or Xbox, launch Minecraft. Navigate to the "Play" menu, then to the "Friends" tab. You should see a LAN game titled "BedrockTogether." Select it to join your server. Once you are successfully connected, you can safely close the app.

Troubleshooting

  • Server not showing up: Ensure your mobile device and console are on the same Wi-Fi network. Note that the server must be either a Minecraft: Bedrock Edition server or a Minecraft: Java Edition server with the GeyserMC plugin installed for console connections.
  • Connection issues: Double-check the server address and port you entered in the BedrockTogether app. Ensure your server is running and online.
  • App permissions: Make sure BedrockTogether has permission to access your local network.
